Description

A rare material, a handle tens of thousands of years in the making

The Scorpion belongs to our prestige range. Its handle is cut from mammoth ivory fossil, a material we work with great care: each block is different, each handle carries its own veining and colour. Unlike ivory from protected species, mammoth ivory is a fossil material, tens of thousands of years old, whose trade is legally authorised: each block we select shows its own shades, from creamy white to deep brown. On this model, the traditional bee gives way to a hand-forged scorpion — a signature that sets this piece apart from the rest of our range.

100% French handcrafted, in our workshop

Like all our knives, the Scorpion is assembled piece by piece in our Aveyron workshop. Preparing the liners, fitting the mammoth ivory handle on the turning stone, assembling the spring and blade, turning and polishing: every step is done by hand, with nothing subcontracted. Mammoth ivory calls for particular care when turning: denser and more brittle than wood, it is worked at reduced speed to avoid chipping, then hand-polished to reveal its natural veining. About 4 hours of work go into this knife, from selecting the ivory block to the final polish.

Who is it for?

The Scorpion is designed for collectors and lovers of rare pieces within our prestige range. Mammoth ivory fossil and the scorpion emblem make this a collector's knife, meant to be kept, handed down, or given for a milestone birthday, a retirement, or a family handover. As each handle is cut from a unique block, patterns and shades vary slightly from one knife to the next: the piece you receive will never be strictly identical to the photo, which is also part of the value of a mammoth ivory knife.

Care & After-sales

Simple care is enough: wipe the blade after use, avoid prolonged exposure of the ivory handle to moisture. In case of a manufacturing defect, our workshop handles the repair: lifetime guarantee, no questions asked. Sharpening can also be done in-house, on request.
