An authentic pocket knife, born in the Aveyron

The 12 cm Laguiole awl knife is the two-blade version of the traditional shepherd's knife. Alongside the folding blade, a sturdy awl — an everyday tool passed down through generations on the farms of the Aubrac. Nothing superfluous, nothing missing: a fair, useful knife, built to last.

The Coutellerie du Barry has been crafting knives by hand in its Laguiole workshop since 1988. Every part leaves the hands of our knifemakers — nothing is outsourced.

100% French, handmade in our workshop

Each knife takes around four hours to make. The liners are hand-fitted, the spring engraved piece by piece before hardening. The bee — symbol of the Laguiole knife — is hand-forged directly into the spring, not added on afterwards. The acacia handle is turned and sanded to its final shape, then the shepherd's cross is hand-set with stainless steel pins, one by one.

The result: a balanced knife, pleasant to hold, that gains character with time.
