At the Coutellerie du Barry, even a bread knife is made by hand, piece by piece, in our Laguiole workshop. The deer antler handle — sourced from the Aveyron region — or the horn tip alternative gives your table a quiet, natural character. This is not a decorative piece: it is a working knife, built to last.
Since 1988, every knife that leaves our workshop is the work of our craftsmen. The bread knife is no exception. The 12C27 stainless steel blade is forged and hand-sharpened with a controlled serration that cuts without crushing. The handle is fitted by hand onto the liners; the stainless bolsters are set, the pins tightened. Nothing is subcontracted. Each piece is assembled here, in Laguiole.
Note: blade length and overall length to be confirmed with Élodie before publication.
This bread knife suits anyone who wants something beautiful on the table without fuss. It works equally well as an everyday piece or as a wedding, anniversary, or housewarming gift. Deer antler, a natural and living material, appeals to admirers of French craftsmanship; horn tip, smoother and more uniform, suits more classic table settings. In both cases, the build quality is identical.
The 12C27 blade is hand-wash only — no dishwasher. A dry cloth after use is all it needs. The serration can be re-sharpened in our workshop on request. In case of breakage or manufacturing defect, our after-sales service handles repair or replacement: lifetime guarantee, no questions asked.
